STRAND 1
Broken nature:ori gersht
He is an Israeli fine artist and photographer as well as a professor of photography at the University for the Creative Arts in Rochester,Kent. A lot of his work is also inspired by the contemporary life being metephoricly symbolised through historical references. His series expand through many different political and controversial themes but he portrays them in simple but effective ways that have more understanding for example his portrayal of the Nazi occupied territory escape routes in the Pyrenees. Other themes that he has dealt with which shows his diverse approach to photography are his work on the Dutch still life painting and romantic landscapes which are both very different from each other because with the dutch still life he is trying to encapsulate an image as though it was painted whereas with the romantic landscape the obvious difference is that the image is of a landscape and the images look like they have been frosted over and the make the observer feel gloomy and cold when observing the image which juxtaposes the word romantic science your supposed to feel warm and happy so he uses irony to depict his images. But Brecht? I thought this was Ori Gersht? is most known for his work with slow-motion capture wherein he produces images of fruit, flowes and other materials being shot at, at a high velocity gunfire. He earned his MFA in photography from the Royal Arts in London, Later gaining critical success with an exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston which is also how he gained his professorship.
This is a good start and very descriptive, but what's more important is the actual description of the work, specifically, how it's produced and its meaning. Include your opinions about the work and how you could apply these techniques to your own work.

To create a similar stimulation to show the movement of the flower breaking as the artist Ori Gersht I used flour and fire. The problems that had with the flour is that the shutter speed had to be really hight to be able to catch the movement of the flour but the exposure wasn't cooperating so instead I used matches. I think the matches created a similar effect to how Ori portrayed his images but in his images there was a lot more smoke to b able to see than I had used. the editing for all three of the images were all the same or similar but also respective to how the image originally looked.

Broken house hold objects:bobby doherty
Doherty born in 1989 and now works in Brooklyn New York Brooklyn New York and has won an ASME Next Award and has always had the dream of being a photographer and was embarrassed to tell people of his dream of being a photographer. His inspiration for getting into photography was because of his Grandad who was also a photographer and painter and actor and his thoughts was that his grandad was the only person who he though was exciting. His first real work was with shooting the Best of New York Times openers in 2013 and also an in-house still life photographer for New York magazine, he also used to work with assisting other photographers and shooting book covers for Rodrigo Corral. Bobby has worked with a lot of different types of photography from Portraitures of famous people Like R.kelly and Marie Kondo and Bobby Shmurda to still life with advertisements with Cartier using juxtaposition with there jewellery and his shoot of "The Guide to Everything Being Frozen" when he froze a bunch of Barbies upside down. The diversity of his images is what I really enjoy about his photography and his work that placed him on the map and that he continues to do is his Cheap Eats series where he would take images of strange food or even other food mixed with non food objects which he spontaneously takes pictures of without planning the shoot. He also tries to differentiate the style of photography that he is known for and branching out from when he first got recognition for bright, repeating images of still life.
Good artist research section! Can you describe a couple of these images, specifically? What do they look like, what effect has been created, how have they been produced?

broken person:anton nicholson
Anton Nicholson was born in 1990 but he hasn't always set out to be a photographer but he was preparing to become a lawyer because photography was just a teenage passion for him but then changed the pursuit of what he wanted to become a photographer which then changed his lifestyle and has become his form of self expression since 2006. A lot of his work is quite new and he doesn't have that many series because he is new to creating photography and is at least a year old with most of his pieces being 1 year old. The inspiration that he gets is from The diversity of the world and he turns the ordinary objects into images of fantasies. His work combines different types of photography and layering of images for example he uses: digital photography, graphic design, photo makeup, decoration and other experiments of mixed media. But a lot of his artwork focuses of facial expression or just faces or objects that look like faces for example his series of red threads when he works with white masks attached to a bunch of red threads and also his work of Your Breath when he incorporates elements into his work as well as focussing on the face.. The work that he is most known for is is his Broken Feelings series.
Good start - you must now describe this actual work - what are we looking at, why was this created - what did the artist want to achieve, and how did he do it? What do you like about it? How will you use his work to inspire yours?
